Listed below are the eligibility criteria for BBA from IGNOU:
Educational Qualification
You should have completed +2 or equivalent from any recognized university.
Age Requirements
Minimum Age : 18 years
Maximum Age: 24 years
The minimum age of candidate who wishes apply for BBA is 18 years and the maximum age is 24 years. Note that there is a 1 year relaxation in the maximum age for highly skilled and talented students.
Admission Procedure
There are two types of admissions to the BBA retailing program, they are:
- Direct Admission
- Sponsored Admission
Direct Admission
For the direct admission the candidates have to undergo a personal interview at the concerned Regional Centers of IGNOU. The interview is intended to asses the following:
- Appearance
- Ability to communicate
- Attitude
- Mental alertness
- General awareness
Each of the above carries a maximum of 10 marks. A candidate will have to achieve 25 marks out of the total 50 to get admission.
Note that there will be reservation for eligible candidates as per the reservation rules of the Government of India.
Sponsored Admission
If you are an employee of a retail company, your employer can nominate you for the program. Your employer in this case will be called the sponsor. In order to get admission your sponsor should submit a nomination letter in the company’s letterhead along with your personal application to the program. The demand draft of the course fee drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi, should also be attached with the application.

Total Course Fee: ₹ 27,000
The total program fee for the three year distance learning BBA program from IGNOU is ₹ 27,000.
More Details About the Program
The BBA course follows a modular method, i.e you will be awarded with different certifications with the completion each stage of the course.
If you successfully complete the first year then you will be awarded with a Diploma in Retailing certificate. If you complete the second year successfully then you will be given an Advanced Diploma in Retailing certification. And finally upon completion of the third year you’ll be given the Bachelor of Business Administration certificate.
The greatest advantage of this scheme is that unlike regular BBA programs, you will be having a certification if ever you are not able to continue with the program at a stage. You can complete the program in 8 years, but at each stage you’ll be given a certification.
After the completion of the BBA program, you can also obtain an MBA from IGNOU.
